Melbourne Cup
glass hire

Cup Day is Tuesday 3 November. Champagne flutes in crates of 36, picked up in Northbridge or delivered on the Lower North Shore, and they come back to us dirty.

Flutes for Cup Day

Our classic champagne flutes come in crates of 36 for $50, which works out at under $1.40 a glass for three days. For a smaller lunch we also have 25 Palace flutes by Luigi Bormioli at $50 for the crate. Single glasses start at $1.50.

If the bubbles stop after the race, we also hire wine glasses, highballs for the gin and tonics, and a drink dispenser for a jug of something cold.

How many to get

  • A sweep at home or a long lunch: one flute per guest, plus a few spare
  • An office lunch: one flute each, plus a wine glass or highball if it carries on after the race
  • More than 36 guests: two crates, or a crate plus single glasses

Tell us the headcount and we will size it for you.

Timing for a Tuesday race

The race is on a Tuesday, so the usual hire runs Monday to Wednesday. Collect them or take delivery on the Monday, have your lunch on the Tuesday, and get them back to us on the Wednesday. If your party is on the weekend before, the three days simply move with it.

Cup week is busy and we have a set number of flutes, so the earlier you ask, the more likely we are to have exactly what you want.

Offices on the Lower North Shore

Organising the Cup lunch for an office in North Sydney, St Leonards, Crows Nest or Chatswood? We deliver to the door for $40 each way on orders of $100 or more, and collect afterwards. Nobody has to wash glasses in the office kitchen.

Questions

When should I book for Cup Day?

As soon as you know your numbers. Cup week is one of our busiest, and flutes are the first thing to go. A quote costs nothing and we can change it if the numbers move.

Do you deliver for Cup Day?

Yes, north of the Harbour within ten kilometres of Northbridge, and the city, for $40 each way on orders of $100 or more. Usually the day before, so everything is in place before the lunch starts. Pickup from Northbridge is free and has no minimum.

Do we need to wash them before they come back?

No. Pack them back in the crates dirty, every glass in its own slot, and we do the washing.

What if a glass breaks?

It happens. A flute is $9.95 to replace, and it goes on the one invoice we send after the glasses come back.
